AMM IEA Builder
Create compliant individual employment agreements quickly — powered by expert workplace law advice.
The AMM IEA Builder is an online tool that helps you generate Individual Employment Agreements using AMM’s lawyer‑developed templates and clause logic. Designed to save time while maintaining confidence in compliance.
Using our IEA Builder, you’ll complete an easy online form that automatically populates an IEA for your use. Once you submit the form, you’ll be able to preview a draft version of the IEA, check all details, and go back to correct any errors before finalising it. This ensures your IEA is accurate, complete, and aligned with the information you provide.
This service provides a best practice IEA suitable for most employment situations. However, if you require specialised provisions—such as an availability clause, tools of trade arrangements, bonus or commission schemes, or an agreement for a high-income earner (over $200,000 per year)—please contact us directly. These types of provisions require tailored advice to ensure they are lawful, enforceable and appropriate for the role.
AMM IEA Builder FAQS
How do I access?
To access the IEA builder, please contact our team on info@ammlaw.co.nz and they will send you a letter of engagement and generate a link that will be emailed to you.
To support our launch, we’re offering a complimentary review of your first IEA generated through the builder.
What if there are law changes affecting my IEA?
If future updates to our IEA templates are required, we will email you directly about this.
Which IEA is right for me?
When completing the online form, you can select from several IEA types. Here’s a summary to help you decide which fits your situation:
- Permanent Agreement: For ongoing employment, full-time or part-time.
- Fixed-Term Agreement: Used when employment is for a specific period or project (e.g., the duration of a project contract). Note: the reason must be related to the need for the role. Fixed-term agreements cannot be used to trial an employee.
- Casual Agreement: Used when work is offered only “as and when required” - no obligation for employer to offer, or employee to accept, work. Note: this agreement should not be used if an employee is working on a regular or ongoing basis
I have questions! What should I do?
